Soyuz-SF Main Console (v3)
Console model by Cosmin Planchon based on plan drawing by Terry Hancock with display graphics from Timothée Giet. We're still working on the graphics, and Vyacheslav Yastrebcev is correcting some of the labels.
Georgiana Lerner Model
3D model of Georgiana Lerner by Andrew Pray, based on the modelsheet by Daniel Fu.
Shading / Materials Test for Georgiana
This shows the modified materials and shading for the Georgiana character. I've opted not to include line-rendering of any kind, but I doing a lot with the "Toon" shader (a.k.a. "cel shader") in Blender. I was able to get a nice sharp glint from the eyes and a soft feel to the skin, which I think is going to read very well in the production. The skin shader incorporates a three-stage ramp which produces the "lit", "semi-shadow", "shadow" effect, although it has been softened just a bit with a contribution from continuous shading.
Soyuz Launch Vehicle Model by Chris Kuhn
This is the model of the "Soyuz-SF Launch Vehicle" for the pilot episode of Lunatics. It is very nearly identical to the real "Soyuz-U". This model has no textures yet -- just basic material settings. We will be adding some simple texturing for final animation.
Photo from Soyuz-TMA 15 Flight
This is the real view from the on-board monitor camera on the starboard side of the Soyuz capsule (above the "Spaceflight Participant" seat). It shows the "Commander" (foreground) and the "Flight Engineer" (background), as well as the toy on a string that they use in Soyuz flights to show the vibration and gee-force for the camera. This is for comparison with our recreated set of the "Soyuz-SF".
Recreated Cabin Camera View of Soyuz Interior Set
Well we're almost there! This is a rendering from the "starboard cabin camera" in our Soyuz interior set, for comparison with the real one. Regrettably, the "flight engineer" couch is sticking into the wall a bit (oops!), so this is clearly not the final version. But then, that's why we do test renders! In the pilot, Hiromi will be in the further seat and Sergei will be in the middle seat. Georgiana is in the seat under this camera (so we may not be using much from this camera view, even though it is the most common shot used in documenting real launches).
Georgiana Lerner Rendering Test
Rendering test to show materials changes.
Helmet Reflection Test
Testing material properties and shaders for helmet reflections (teaser trailer). Does not have final coloring on Georgiana, though.
Test render of Soyuz Interior Set
Test rendering of the interior set of the Soyuz "Descent Module" interior created for the teaser.
Test Render of Soyuz Launch Pad Model
Model of "Gagarin Start" launch pad at Baikonur for the "Lunatics!" pilot episode.
Soyuz Launch Pad Gantries
Intermediate progress on modeling the Soyuz launch pad gantries for the "Gagarin Start" model created for the "Lunatics!" pilot episode.
Texture test for Soyuz
Experimental texture test for Soyuz Podstage. This is a painted texture similar to what we hope to use for final rendering.
Rendering of Lander Rough Model
Rough model of the LTS lander used in the animatic. Detailing this model is part of the work we hope to get done this Summer.
Test Render of Earth
Test render of the Earth model used in Lunatics. This is the model we'll be using, at least for distant shots (we may need a somewhat higher resolution mesh for Low Earth Orbit shots, as this one tends to show corners).
Moon Test Render
Test render of our Moon model - Near Side.
Moon Test Render - Far Side
Testing rendering of our Moon model - Far Side.
